POWR2.com had been built by an outside agency and had aged. The first ask was lean, essentially a homepage and a contact page. I pushed for a full rebuild, because a minimal site would have quietly thrown away years of search ranking we had already earned.

The Challenge

Modernize an aging site without losing the audience it had already earned.

The original site looked dated next to competitors, and the way it was built left little room to scale or update it without going back out to a vendor. Taken at face value, the lean scope meant dropping the product pages, blog, case studies, technical articles, and podcast archive that already existed.

Those older pages, campaign and trade-show pages included, were still pulling in search traffic and backlinks built up over years. Remove them without a plan and that traffic lands on broken links and disappears. The real problem was bigger than a fresher look: how to modernize the whole site, on a foundation we could maintain ourselves, without throwing away the search equity it had quietly earned.

The Insight

A minimal site isn't a smaller version of the old one. It quietly throws away everything those 160+ pages had already earned. Protect that first, then modernize on top of it.

The Solution

Own the whole thing, and direct the build instead of hand-coding it.

  1. Design & Art Direction

Redesigned the homepage and every core product page around one consistent story. I designed the MAX unit's branded livery, upgrading it from a plain white canopy, and built the 3D homepage centerpiece in Substance and Blender.

  2. The SEO Save

Accounted for every existing page and post, with proper redirects wherever content moved, so links, bookmarks, and rankings kept working. Reviewed titles, meta descriptions, and sitemaps across the site.

  3. AI Directed Build

Instead of an agency or a page-builder, I directed the build with Claude on the code, on a custom WordPress theme we fully own. I stood up the hosting, server, backups, and a private staging environment, then cut over to live with no disruption to visitors.

Where it started: an early whiteboard mapping the new site and the next generation of mobile power.

  1. Built to be Maintained

A set of reusable content blocks, hero banners, spec sheets, accordions, video sections, and CTA bands, so future pages go up fast without custom code.

  2. Performance & Security

Hardened the forms, validated against a recent WordPress vulnerability, and load-tested before launch. Moved 30+ product videos to Vimeo so streaming no longer competes for bandwidth.

The finished homepage: faster, modern, and owned outright.
