Meaningful promotions make you memorable

Successful sales pitch

A large company was hearing a series of research proposals over two days. Each potential research team had 45 minutes to give their presentation. We wanted to leave behind something beyond a t-shirt, or a pen. Something memorable.

This was one of my favorite brainstorms ever, with the project leader. One of YouGov’s most unique offerings is their depth of data, referred to as the YouGov Cube. We landed on a customized Rubik’s cube and integrated some sides of the cube as the sections of our presentation.

We heard later that the combination of holding the cube, watching the presentation, and what the cube meant to our business had a visible effect on the client. Their faces lit up as we not only had the expertise to do the research, but had also presented our capability in a compelling way.

And yes, we won the job.
